Amalgamated Sugar Raises Funds for Hope House

This holiday season, Amalgamated Sugar, its employees, and growers raised over $1,600 for Hope House, a local organization that provides a home for children who are emotionally impaired, developmentally disabled, and/or come from disrupted adoptions or dysfunctional families.

The money was raised by selling tickets for an Amalgamated Sugar themed Christmas Tree among the employees and sugarbeet growers. Along with supporting the fundraiser by a cash donation, Amalgamated Sugar provided the tree and decorations.

“Our donation will purchase athletic shoes for children living at Hope House and participate in the Hope House athletic program,” said Marsi Trejo, the employee who coordinated the fundraiser. “We’re so grateful to everyone who pitched in to help and contribute.”

Hope House’s Mission is to provide a home-like, family atmosphere, along with love, structured activities, appropriate discipline, and educational/vocational opportunities. By giving children this environment, they believe that these young people can reach their fullest potential.

“This time of year makes us realize the importance of giving to those in need,” said Trejo. “Hug your loved ones extra tight this holiday season; they are a blessing not everyone is fortunate to have.”
