Idaho’s FFA students had an opportunity to participate virtually in Idaho’s 90th Annual State Convention this April, and Amalgamated Sugar took part as an Innovator Sponsor. Along with informational sessions, students also had a chance to attend a virtual career fair, workshops hosted by visiting State Officers, meet this year’s State Officer candidates, and view the Growing Our Future Webinar Series.

In the Growing Our Future Webinar Series, FFA students were given an opportunity to learn more about agriculture, leadership, advocacy, education, and growth. Along with Amalgamated Sugar, other top convention sponsors and Idaho agriculture companies shared insights and information about their companies and industries through a series of recorded webinars.

Amalgamated Sugar’s webinar was titled Non-Ag Ag Careers with Amalgamated Sugar. The webinar was intended to show that there are many different career fields that may not seem to be agriculture-based careers that can still have an impact on agriculture.

Throughout the video, FFA students heard from several Amalgamated Sugar employees as they shared what life looked like after their FFA experiences, how they found their way to their current careers, and what they love about their work. The Amalgamated Sugar employees who participated also shared some advice for FFA students who are preparing for what their life will look like after FFA.
