During the month of October, Amalgamated Sugar ran a campaign for breast cancer awareness. Limited-edition pink logo beanies were sold to employees, sugarbeet growers, and the community. The Company pledged to donate $5 for every pink-logo beanie sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The campaign was a big success, with 358 pink-logo beanies sold. As a result, Amalgamated Sugar has made a $1,790 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
“This effort resonated with our employees because nearly all of us have been impacted by breast cancer in some way,” said Jessica Anderson, Public Affairs Manager at Amalgamated Sugar.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to achieving the end of breast cancer. They provide critical funding for cancer research worldwide to fuel advances in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis, and survivorship.
